About Luton Physiotherapy

The practice was set up by Louise Waddell 20 years ago

Louise qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist from the London Hospital Whitechapel. She spent the first six years of her career working in the NHS, the latter two years in a specialist orthopaedic hospital working alongside consultant orthopaedic surgeons. During this time she developed a special interest in the treatment of sports and spinal injuries and has worked with athletes at club, county and national levels.

A move to Bedfordshire and the need to continue working whilst bringing up a young family prompted Louise to set up her own clinic initially at Luton Rugby Club. As the clinic grew and there was a demand for more space the premises in Ashcroft Road were acquired. Over the years Louise has had several physiotherapists working with her.

Linda Allsop joined us in April last year. She qualified in 1983 from Middlesex Hospital in London, from there she joined the Physio department at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital where she worked for two years before getting married. Her husbands job took them to South Africa where she worked in a private clinic In Johannesburg for 13 months. On returning to the UK she rejoined the Physio department at the Luton and Dunstable.

As a sportswoman herself she enjoys treating sports related problems and injuries and has been a physiotherapist for the Stopsley Striders running club and also taught 3 classes of aerobics a week for many years.

For the last seventeen years Linda has worked in private practice.

Linda is a member of:
